Brewing news UK: Anheuser-Busch rolls out Bud Silver

US brewer Anheuser-Busch (AB) is shortly to roll out its new Bud Silver standard lager to the rest of the UK after initially launching the brand in Scotland, The Checkout Magazine posted June 06.

The 4.1% alcohol by volume lager is currently available in multiple grocers in Scotland, although it is expected to be soon stocked by convenience stores north of the border. Bud Silver in packaged in 440ml can four-packs, although it will be sold in other pack formats from July, when it will be rolled out nationally and introduced to the pub trade.

AB is positioning Bud Silver as a “European-style beer with a fuller premium flavour”. The brand, which is presented in a silver and blue livery, is being supported with retail point of sale and consumer sampling.

AB UK managing director David Dryden said: “Bud Silver represents an exciting opportunity for us to compete in a growing category. Bud Silver complements our portfolio of brands and offers a great opportunity for our retailers to add choice for their customers and grow their beer sales.”
